Covid-19: DC Ganderbal reviews preparatory measures

GANDERBAL, MARCH 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting of concerned departments to review the preparatory measures to combat the Corona Virus in the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO, Anika Mushtaq, CMO, BMOs, EO municipality and other district and sectoral officers.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on preventive measures to be adopted for tackling Covid-19.

The DC asked the concerned officials to keep constant vigil and create awareness among the masses regarding the viral disease.

The education department was asked to educate the students about the Do’s and Don’ts in this regard besides, conducting awareness sessions about prevention measures which need to be adopted.

The health department was asked to increase the capacity of quarantine wards in District Hospital Ganderbal, SDH and Trauma Hospital Kangan.

Regarding distribution of IEC material, it was decided that BDOs will be responsible for its distribution at block level and Tehsildars at Tehsil level.

The DC directed that the ICE material should be distributed at every public place including courts, bus stands, market places, religious places and hospitals.

The DC also asked the concerned officials to prepare a complete list of persons who have recently returned from other countries especially from Corona Virus affected and who are presently travelling other parts of the world.
