Amar Singh College organizes awareness program on PMSSS

SRINAGAR, MARCH 6: A day-long awareness programme on Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) was organized by Amar Singh College, here today.

The programme was attended by 400 participants including heads of various degree, polytechnic colleges and Higher Secondary schools.

On the occasion, Principal Amar Singh College, Prof. Bashir Ahmed Rather highlighted the importance of PMSSS in transforming the educational scenario and skill development.

On the occasion, Director School Education, Kashmir, Mohd Younis Malik deliberated up on the benefits of PMSSS.

He appreciated the efforts of the implementing agency, AICTE, J&K Higher Education Department and all the other people associated with the scheme.

Consultant PMSSS J&K, Prof. Ajeet Angral highlighted various aspects of the scheme and its benefits for the students of UT.

Director PMSS, AICTE, Dr. Anand Sharma presented a power point presentation about the scheme, the registration process, the eligibility criteria for the scholarship scheme for the academic year 2020. He also informed that the portal for registration will open in the month of April.

Nodal Principal, Kashmir Division Colleges, Prof. Yasmeen Ashai also spoke on the occasion highlighting the contribution of the Higher Education Department in helping students in need of scholarships.

Later, a question and answer session was also conducted which was moderated by Dr. Syed Mutahar Aaqib.
