Secy. Tourism & Culture reviews progress of departmental projects/schemes

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27:  Secretary Tourism & Culture,  Zubair Ahmad today reviewed the progress achieved in respect of various projects and schemes undertaken in the twin departments.

The works reviewed included those taken under PMDP, PMRP, CAPEX Budget, languishing projects, investible projects for upcoming Global Investors Summit, status of outsourcing of assets of the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, JKTDC, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, J&K Cable Car Corporation and the Tourism Development Authorities of Jammu region.

Status regarding various court cases was also discussed in the meeting.

The officers were directed to vigorously follow the status of Court cases by filling urgency memos in various Contempt petitions, PILs etc pending disposal before the Supreme Court/High Court/Subordinate Courts.

The Secretary directed concerned officials to designate liaison officers so as to ensure their speedy disposal.

The tourist circuits of Jammu-Rajouri-Shopian-Pulwama under Himalayan circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme, Integrated development of tourism facilities under the construction of assets in lieu of those destroyed in floods in 2014 under PMDP for J&K  and integrated development of tourism infrastructure projects under Himalayan Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme for promotion of tourism were also reviewed in detail.

The Secretary stressed the need for early completion of these projects as per the approved design/DPRs and laid down a timeline so that the purpose for which these projects are created is fulfilled.  He further directed that issues and bottlenecks if any for completion of these projects be brought to the notice of the Administrative Department within a weeks’ time positively.

Director Tourism, Jammu, CEO, Rajouri, CEO, Patnitop, CEO, Kishtwar, CEO, Bhaderwah, CEO, Lakhanpur, CEO, Poonch, Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Jammu,  DDT, Jammu, DDT, Planning, Jammu, SLO,  Executive Engineers of Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and various Tourism Development Authorities besides Project Manager, NPCC/NBCC participated in the meeting.
