KULGAM, FEBRUARY 26: DDC Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today inaugurated a mega Kisan Mela cum Exhibition organised by Agriculture Department Kulgam under CSS-ATMA.
Agriculture and allied departments set-up stalls show casing high yielding vegetable seeds, crops and other machinery during the event
Scores of progressive farmers from across the district participated in the mela in which experts of Agriculture and allied departments informed the farmers about latest techniques and use of high yielding varieties, organic farming and judicious use of fertilizers for satiable agriculture, besides various financial schemes.
On the occasion, the DDC said that all steps are being taken for sustained growth of agriculture sector by introducing several innovative measures to enable farmers to get maximum returns.
He added that it is pivotal to sensitize farmers about new technologies, high yielding variety of seeds and other innovations being introduced in the sector besides providing better market exposure.
The DDC directed the concerned to ensure cent percent target achievements in KCC and other schemes in the district.
The officers present in the on the occasion were ADDC, JD Planning, CAO, CHO, CAHO, DAO, MDO and other concerned besides representatives of banks.
