Srinagar Feb 22 : Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
“Officers at a checkpoint established near railway road Budgam intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Bilal Ahmed Beigh and MohdRafiqHajam both residents of Kadipora, Budgam. Officers during checking recovered 220gms of charas from their possession,” statement issued to KNS reads.
Case FIR No. 54/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation in the matter has been initiated. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Budgam where they remain in custody.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
