Gulmarg: Much talked about Kashmiri politician, Syed Altaf Bukhari, a former PDP legislator and minister, was sighted by some with BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav at Kashmir’s favourite winter games resort Gulmarg on Friday.

Though nobody could confirm that whether it was a planned meeting or just a chance meeting for a get together at a Gulmarg hotel, given Bukhari’s statements and actions in recent pass, the coincidence (if it was), is being debated all over.

Sources said that Altaf Bukhari, who is presently heading a group of some former legislators, had come to Gulmarg on Friday and stayed at a hut there owned by him.

However, in the evening he drove to a luxurious hotel in Gulmarg, where a grand social party was underway and he was, as per sources, invited.

There he met Ram Madhav and had a long chat with him, sources said.

Interestingly, sources said that two top J&K cadre IPS officers – S M Sahai and Afad ul Mujtaba too were sighted along the two politicians.

Altaf Bukhari, it may be recalled here, is trying to float a new political party alongwith Muzaffar Hussain Beg of PDP with the intention to break the political logjam following August 05, 2019.

His group has already had a detailed meeting with Lt Governor and also with diplomats of various countries who visited union territory of J&K.

Advocating the restoration of statehood to J&K, the group that is yet to take a shape of a political party, has been trying to create some space for itself in Kashmir polity.
