2 durg-peddlers arrested in Sopore

Sopore, Feb 17: Police on Monday evening claimed to have arrested two durg-peddlers during in north Kashmir’s Sopore village.

A police official told Kashmir Images during checking at Waroora, two persons identified as Bashir Ahmed Baba, son of Late Khazar Mohammad Baba of Magraypora Sopore, and Showket Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat of Botingoo Sopore, were apprehended and “large quantity of illegal drugs” were recovered from them.

Officer said a case FIR no. 27/2020 under section 8/20, 29 NDPS act has been registered at Waroora Police Station and further investigation has been taken up.

Officer said that these two were wanted drug-peddlers in the area.

Meanwhile, in Jammu also two persons were arrested after they were found in possession of cannabis, said police.

Following a tip-off, their vehicle was intercepted in Shastrinagar area and 650 grams of cannabis was seized from them, a police officer said.

Their vehicle of accused Mohmmad Irfan and Sunny Mehra too was confiscated, the official said.
