Over 1 lakh households to get tap water under JJM: DDC Budgam

BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 09: District Development Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganaie today convened a meeting of officers to review the status Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) implementation in the district.

ADC Budgam, Senior Engineer Hydraulics, CPO, ACR, SDMs, Executive Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and other concerned were present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that out of 1.10 lakh households without tap water connection 30 thousand have been provided the connection while remaining will be covered by June.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned to ensure timely completion of ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS) to cover pending households under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by June across the district.

He also directed the concerned to come up with Village Action Plan by consulting Village Level Water and Sanitation Committees.

The DDC directed the concerned for conducting base line survey and uploading the data of FHTCs on the web portal.

He asked the concerned for conduction awareness camps at block levels to ensure that no household is left out.

Earlier, senior Engineer Hydraulics informed the meeting about various departmental activists including IEC. He informed that the department is going to organise a Mega Mela to generate awareness about on Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
