Khazir Mohammad Bhat, a protestor, told JKNS that past 10 years, PHE department has failed to compensate the land owners. “We have been roaming from one department for demanding compensation but to no avail,” he said.

“We were promised compensation for our land which was utilized by the PHE dept and also jobs for each family member,” Bhat said adding that they have already given 15 day ultimatum to the government after which they would block the water supply schemes in the area.

The protestors appealed Lieutenant Governor led administration and Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter. (JKNS)
