Tourism dept participates in OTM Mumbai

MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 03: Continuing with its promotional campaign, J&K Tourism Department participated in a 3-day Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai, which began here on Monday.

Over 100 companies from Jammu and Kashmir participated to showcase their products and attract travelers.

The department provided free space to the travel companies, hoteliers and houseboat owners who conducted B2B and B2C meetings with their clients.

Many other travel companies and hoteliers had also set up their own separate stalls to promote J&K’s tourism products.

Director Tourism Kashmir, Nisar Ahmad Wani, Deputy Secretary Tourism Wasim Raja participated in the 3-day show. They also interacted with the representative of the tourism boards from different States and leading travel companies from other countries.

OTM is one of the biggest travel shows in Asia providing platform for travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, destination management companies and tourism boards to sell their products.

Thousands of visitors, including domestic and international sellers and buyers, State tourism officials, heads of international tourism boards, hoteliers, and aviation experts showcased their products and services to the global trade community.

Director Tourism Kashmir said J&K Stall received good number of visitors on the first day who inquired about different tourism products and showed keen interest to visit J&K.

“The travel show is a platform under single roof for the department and for the travel companies, hoteliers and houseboat owners to project J&K’s tourism potential. During our interaction, the destination sellers showed keen interest to promote JK,” said Nisar Wani.

During the convention, local travel and hospitality sector also conducted business sessions with the visitors and the principal agents.

Tourism Department also screened short films on different destinations and on various themes for the visitors who were mesmerized to see J&K’s stunning beauty and diverse tourism products.

Earlier also the department participated in various travel shows at Ahmadabad, Nagpur, Chennai and another biggest show of Asia at South Asian Travel and Tourism Exhibition (SATTE) in New Delhi.

On the occasion, Director Tourism Kashmir also released annual directory and travel guide of Association of Kashmir Tour Operators and Pahalgam Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association.

The department has planned a series of road shows and shall also participate in travel marts in the next two months.
