DC Kargil takes stock of dev activities at Hardass, Karkitchoo

KARGIL, AUGUST 03: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today took stock of developmental activities at Hardass and Karkitchoo villages.

The DC also interacted with public delegations and listened to their demands and grievances.

The DC while taking stock of the pace of work on the construction and up gradation of Hardass Thang, Gond Hardass and Dopi Thang roads at Hardass being constructed at a cost of Rs 694 lacs under CRF instructed officers concerned to complete the remaining work on the construction of roads within the stipulated period of time.

At New Colony Hardass Thang, Hardass Grongjuk and Hardass Thang, the villagers projected demand for repair of water supply connections, installation of hand pumps, provision of water tankers especially during winter months, repair of irrigation khuls and water reservoir tanks and other related demands.

Responding to the demands, the DC assured the locals that these would be given due consideration and steps for fulfillment would be taken up in a phased manner.

In case of certain demands, the DC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers.

The instructed the SE PWD and ACD Kargil to install hand pump at New Colony Hardass within a week’s time. He also asked the officers to carry out necessary repairs of water reservoir tanks and water supply connections immediately wherever necessary besides to look for feasibility for installation of hand pumps.

During his visit to Government High School Hardass, the DC gave on spot directions to the SE PWD to start construction work of the school as per the requirements of the school and demand of the villagers.

The DC also visited the NTPHC in the area and took stock of medicare facilities available for the people at the health institution. He directed the ACD Kargil to construct footpath for the NTPHC under MGNREGA funds.

While underlining the need for coordinated efforts by the executing agencies and the local people in effective implementation of schemes on ground, the DC urged the villagers to show their enthusiastic involvement in the formulation of plans as well as the execution of works on ground.

Later, the DC also visited Karkitchoo village and took stock of the progress achieved on the construction of link road for Karkitchoo village from the National Highway-1.

The DC was informed that the road including steel bridge has been completed at a cost of Rs 280 lacs while as construction of approach wall is under progress. It was further informed that the road stretch from NH 1D to the steel bridge has been handed over to the PMGSY Kargil for up gradation.

The DC instructed the Executive Engineer PMGSY Kargil to carry out blacktopping of the road stretch from NH 1D to the steel bridge Karkitchoo.

District Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil Ved Prakash, Executive Engineers of PHE, PMGSY and R&B II, CMO, CEO, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer besides other concerned officers accompanied the DC during the tour.
