Srinagar, August 03: A militant has been killed and a army solider injured in a fierce gunfight which broke out between militants and government forces in Malmapanpora area of Warpora of North Kashmir’s Sopore on Saturday.
A senior Police officer said that after a brief pause in firing, contact was again established with militants. During the course of firing one militant has been killed and also one army solider received bullet wounds and has been shifted to a hospital.
The officer further said that the operation is underway in the area.
Earlier reports said that a joint team of Army’s 22RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Malmaponpora.(GNS)
