Inter-college Football Tourney: GDC Magam beat GDC Kangan in a thriller

Srinagar, July 30: In the ongoing Inter-college Football Tourney, Magam beat GDC Kangan 4-1 on penalty shoot-out.

Meanwhile, IITM Srinagar thrashed SEM College of education Budgam.

First match between GDC Magam and GDC Kangan saw a thrilling contest. In first half of the match, both teams created many chances but could not finish. GDC Kangan dominated the possession .First half ended goal less

Second half say resurging GDC Magam. They attacked back to back and rattled cross bar several times.

Finally GDC Magam found the net and earned much needed goal.

When it seemed GDC Magam would win, GDC Kangan scored a last minute goal and put score on level.

Match was decided on penalty shoot-out. GDC comfortably won the shoot-out 4-1.

Gandhi College Srinagar was adjudged winners as GDC Kupwara failed to report for the match.

Third match of the day was a lopsided encounter in which IITM Srinagar piped SEM College Budgam 5 goals to 1.
