The function was also attended by Ashok Kumar Angurana Chairman, JKMPCL, Managing Director Amul, RS Sodhi, Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir MM Rehman Gasi and a large number of progressive farmers.

On the occasion, Dr Samoon said that JKMPCL needs to increase its share of 50,000 litres per day and setup 500 outlets across the state so that 1 lakh farmers are covered by it.

Reiterating the motive of livestock policy- ‘Farmer First’, Dr Samoon highlighted the contribution and effort of a farmer in milk production and said that farmers should be compensated according to the changing market rates so that they get encouraged to rear the livestock efficiently.

He also said that the recent move of the Department to appoint 400 veterinarians was aimed to give a fillip to the livestock sector particularly milk and mutton production.
