JKYF distributes six lakh rupees among victim’s families in Kishtwar

Srinagar, July 23: J&K Yateem Foundation distributed about six lakh rupees among 43 families including six families from minority community at Kagrana Keshwan in Kishtwar district of Jammu province.

Thirty five persons including 14 women, one infant and twenty men lost their lives in a horrible road accident at Keshwan Kishtwar on July 01.

JKYF team distributed checks of Rs 10,000/ each among 26 victim families at Keshwan, Kistwar during its latest tour to the area. JKYF also decided to adopt three victim children who lost their fathers in the accident and would be formally admitted at BAITUL HILAL (Orphanage), Hudri Kishtwar, at the time of new admissions this November.

Under the directive of Chairman JKYF, a central team from Srinagar comprising senior volunteers Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi, Mohammad Iqbal Beigh & Mohammad Sadullah Bhat, was deputed to Kishtwar for the purpose.

Local Kishtwar volunteer Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a teacher by profession, provided refreshment to all the kins of the victim families who attended solemn cheque distribution function at his residence.

Earlier, JKYF had released an interim relief Rs 2.74 lakh soon after the mishap occurred. The relief included Ration Kits, Shroud cloth for deceased, cash assistance etc that was distributed immediately after the horrible accident, among all victim families. In addition, supplementary amount of Rs 60 thousand has been released for all the injured persons in the accident.

The amount distributed among victim families was pooled by all the district units of JKYF from both Kashmir and Jammu provinces.
