Police holds meetings with public in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 21: Police on Sunday organized a police public meeting at a Park in Dargah area of Hazratbal. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Zakura Musadiq Majid Basu-KPS along with SHO Police Station Nigeen.

The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens and community members from the neighbouring area. During the meeting several issues including drug menace, destroying bhung on the banks of Dal lake, Identification of mischief mongers, check on the movement of anti-social elements indulging in criminal activities. Seeking cooperation of the Sikharawala in maintaining a safe environment inside the lake for the convenience of visitors, SDPO Zakura, Musadiq Majid Basu, redressed many issues on the spot and assured them that their other genuine issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority.

The general public has hailed the initiative of police in facilitating police public meetings which has allowed citizens to raise their concerns freely. Community members expressed their satisfication the way police has been able to rein in criminals. The participants thanked Police for professionally dealing with the recent case of physical abuse of a minor girl and subsequent arrest of the accused.

Meanwhile, police facilitated a public interaction meeting at SDPO office west.

The meeting was chaired by SDPO West Furkan Qadri-JKPS.

Community members and representatives of village Khojbaugh and Maloora participated in the meeting. They raised various issues including drug menace, traffic congestion,encroachment, market checking and other issues.

The main aim of the meeting was to interact with the community members and representatives from the area to seek their cooperation for policing activities being undertaken in the area.

The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority.

Police has resolved to reach out to the community members and redress their grievence at the ground level.

In the meantime, another police-public meeting was chaired by SDPO Kothibagh Syed Yasir Qadiri-JKPS. SHO Police Station Kothibagh was also present in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the Community members of adjacent areas of Kothibagh, members of Makka Market Association, TRC Taxi stand Assoication, Poloview Taxi Stand Association and Taxi Stand Assoication Lalchowk. They raised various issues including drug menace, traffic congestion, parking space and other issues.

The main aim of the meeting was to facilitate interaction with community members and allow for their participation in community policing besides toprovide them an opportunity to voice their concerns freely.

The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority.

Police has also sought the cooperation of community members for eradicating social crimes from society.

The community members have hailed the initiative of police in facilitating police public meeting.
