Adopt a realistic approach over Kashmir problem: Er. Rasheed to Governor Malik
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Jul 20 : Former legislator and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) president Er Rasheed on Saturday took out a protest march in Srinagar to demand action against Congress leader Vikramaditya over his remarks on 1931 martyrs.

Rasheed led a march of his supporters from Regal Chowk to Press Enclave in Srinagar, summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to reporters, Rasheed said that the Congress leader has made indecent remarks against the July 13, 1931 martyrs. “They (martyrs) were not rapists and thiefs. They raised their voice against your grandfather as they were fighting for truth,” said Rasheed while addressing Vikramaditya.

Rasheed said the government should take action against Vikramaditya for insulting the martyrs.

“Martyrs’ Day should be honoured for those thousands of heroes who have sacrificed their lives for our Nation. On 13th July 1931, plunder, loot and rape by criminals and jail breakers in Srinagar city was put to an end. It is a blot on J&K that this is glorified as State Martyrs Day,” Vikramaditya, a former member of the Legislative Council, tweeted on July 13, evoking widespread condemnation. (KNS)
