CEC, LAHDC Leh calls on Sharma

LEH, JULY 15: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P. Wangyal today called on Advisor to Governor, K.K. Sharma here to highlight various issues concerning the Leh district.

EC Agriculture Phuntsog Stanzin, EC Education Konchok Stanzin, EC Minorities Mumtaz Hussain, Div Com Ladakh Saugat Biswas, DC Leh Avny Lavasa, SSP Leh Sargun Shukla and other concerned were present during the meeting.

On the occasion, the CEC apprised the Advisor with demand for expeditious consideration of release of pending wages and regularization case of daily rated workers and casual labours of PHE Division, Leh and PWD circle, Leh.

He also briefed the Advisor about the need for permanent restoration of flood-damaged infrastructure and restoration of nallahs of Leh district, creation of Hydraulic units in Leh, to consider projects submitted under languishing projects from Leh district as a special case, timely release of funds under CRF, clearing of work done liability under Cities and Towns, sanction of funds for deep bore well hand pumps to be allotted to the councillors to mitigate drinking water problem.

The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the issues put forth by the CEC LAHDC and other Councilors. He assured to look into the matters and address them at the earliest possible.

On the occasion, the Advisor enquired about Saubhagya scheme and its implementation in the district. He also assured to provide extra funds to cater to the water needs of the district considering the harsh climatic condition of the region. He also urged the Councilors to monitor the works while they are being executed and assured to consider completion of projects on need basis under languishing projects which are of public benefit. He mentioned about the special attention being given to Ladakh region by Governor’s Administration in fulfilling their development aspirations.

Meanwhile, various delegations and public representatives from the district also met the Advisor here and apprised him with various issues of public importance.

The delegations which called on the Advisor Sharma included Ladakh Gompa Association, District Congress Committee Leh , BJP Unit Leh, Nubra delegation, Municipal Committee Leh, and State Government Employees Association, Leh.

The delegations and associations put forth memoranda to the Advisor and sought redressal of their projected issues.
