DA hiked for employees drawing salaries as per 5th, 6th pay commission

Srinagar, Jul 12: Finance department has cleared the decks for payment of dearness allowance to State government employees who continue to draw their pay as per the 5th or 6th Central Pay Commission.

As per a government order, State government employees continuing to draw their pay as per 5th Central Pay Commission would be paid Dearness Allowance with hike for January 2019.

The existing rate is 284 percent of basic pay while revised rate is 295 percent of basic pay with effect from January 2019.

As per order, the arrears on account of additional installment from January to June 2019 shall be paid in cash in July 2019 and from July onwards the DA would be part of the monthly salary.

The payment of Dearness Allowance involving a fraction of 50 paisa and above shall be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fraction of less than 50 paisa shall be ignored.

Meanwhile, in another order, government cleared decks for payment of Dearness Allowance to State government employees continuing to draw their pay as per 6th Pay Commission with a revised rate effective from January 2019.

It has been ordered that State government employees continuing to draw their pay as per 6th Pay Commission shall be paid Dearness Allowance from existing 148 percent of basic pay to revised 154 of basic pay from January 2019.

The arrears on account of additional installment of DA from January to June 2019 shall be paid in cash in July 2019 and shall form part of the monthly salary from July 2019 onwards. The payment of Dearness Allowance involving a fraction of 50 paisa and above shall be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fraction of less than 50 paisa shall be ignored.
