Secy State Advisory Board for Gujjars & Bakerwals inspects GB Hostel in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, JULY 09: Secretary, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals Mukhtar Ahmad made a surprise visit to Bandipora and inspected the functioning of Gujjar and Bakerwal (GB) hostel there.

During the inspection, Secretary interacted with the boarders to get the firsthand feedback of the facilities being provided to them in the hostel. He also interacted with the warden and assistant warden besides other staff members.

On the occasion boarders apprised the secretary about the problems faced by them in the hostel and sought his intervention to redress the grievances. Secretary gave a patient hearing to the boarders and the staff members and passed directions for on-spot redressal of several grievances. He assured early redressal of several other grievances. Need-based workers of the hostel also put forward their grievances on the occasion.

Secretary said the work on in-house residential school at Kaloosa is going on at full pace and shall be completed at earliest so that students from Gujjar and Bakerwal community are benefited from this school. He lauded the efforts of the hostel staff and teachers for providing better facilities to the boarders and helping in building the learning atmosphere in the hostel.

Later the secretary along with warden and assistant warden inspected the under-construction hostel building for Gujjar and Bakerwal community and directed the officers of the R&B department to expedite the work so that the hostel is made functional within the stipulated time and the studies of the students are not affected.
