Baramulla: Some unknown burglars broke into the strong-room of Gulmarg Gondola and decamped with 50 Lakh rupees during intervening night of Sunday and Monday .

Sources said that burglars struck at cash counter cum strong room at Gulmarg Gondola and looted 50 lakh rupees cash by breaking the fire cum bullet proof locker.

Sources said that a CCTV footage shows burglars entering the Gondola compartment in the night.

While confirming the incident, a top police official said that police has registered a case FIR No 05 of 2019 Under Section 457,380 RPC in police station Gulmarg following the burglary incident.

When contacted Managing Director Gulmarg Cable Car Project, Shamim A Wani, told Kashmir Images confirmed that Rs 50 lakh have been stolen.

“We were shocked to see the cash chest broken and informed the police. Police has taken cognizance and are tracking the movement of thieves with the help of CCTV footage,” MD Wani added.
