Div Com distributes scooties among specially-abled persons

JAMMU, JUNE 22: In order to provide better transportation facilities to specially-abled persons Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma today distributed specially designed scooties among five divyangs.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Director State Motor Garages, Syed Muarif Andrabi, District Social Welfare Officer, Jammu, Ajay Salan and other senior officers and locals were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com said the physically challenged persons are facing many problems while travelling from one place to another, now the scooties will help them to reach their workplaces on time and also help them in other works of day to day life.

The scooties were distributed among Gharu Ram of Kalyana, Bishan Dass, Ajay Kumar, Ramesh Lal of Village Salehar Bishnah and Bachitar Singh of Makhan Pur.

Later, the Div Com chaired a meeting with executing agencies to review the progress of work on Ring Road.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, senior functionaries of NHAI and other concerned.

The officers of executing agencies informed about the progress of work on Ring Road and also informed about the bottlenecks. It was informed that the work is in progress on all the phases.

The Div Com asked the executing agencies to make activity calendar and send progress reports on regular basis. He also passed directions for removing bottlenecks and expeditious work.
