Srinagar: Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Amit Khare reviewed the functioning of media units of the Ministry in J&K during a high level meeting at SKICC, Srinagar today.

Addressing the meeting, Khare stressed upon the need to work in unison with the state administration to properly highlight the issues of development of the State at national level. He said that brilliant achievements of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir in various fields may be brought to the centre-stage.

He added that issues of development in tourism and various other sectors have great potential and should be given priority while reporting to curb the prevailing negative perception all across.

The I&B Secretary advised the media at national level to include developmental and special interest stories not only from J&K but from the whole country in the main bulletins at National level.

While discussing the need of better synergy between media units and the state administration, he said that the programmes like ‘Back to Villages’ and other initiatives of national interest will get a boost when all work together.

Commissioner Secretary to Government, Information Department, Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi while speaking during the meeting appreciated the efforts of Press Information Bureau and other media units in highlighting the achievements of the state government.

The meeting among others was attended by Director General Doordarshan Supriya Sahu, ADG PIB Srinagar, SN Pradhan, Dy. Director ROB Jammu Neha Jalali, Dy. Director PIB Ghulam Abbas, Dy. Director DD News RNU DDK Srinagar Salman Qazi and News Editor DDK Srinagar Shabir Ahmed Dar.
