WPL: Sajid’s 6-fer helps Ramhall Lions to thrash Amberpora

Sopore, June 20: In the ongoing Wular Premier League (WPL), the first match of the day was played between Ramhall Lions and Strikers 11 Amberpora.

Bating first, Ramhall Lions played well and the openers, Zakir and Shahid, laid the solid foundation of 93 runs. Zakir 69 and Shahid 58 and Zahoor 33 were the top scorers for Lions. After 20 overs, Ramhall scored 215 runs for the lost of eight wickets.

For Strikers, Khalid and Nasir took 2 wickets each.

In reply, Strikers 11 lost the wickets in quick successions as they were bundled out for 100 runs. Aatif and Zahoor were the only batsmen who crossed the double figure.

For Ramhall Lions, Young Lad Sajid took 6-fer and was also declared man of the match for his brilliant spell.

Second match of the day was played between Chadoora 11 and Barkat Brothers in which Barkat Brothers defeated Chadoora 11 by 6 wickets.

Comprehensively chasing the victory target of 151 runs, Barkat Brothers achieved the target in 19 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Nasir Paray with 46 and Fazim made 34 runs for them. Aaqib also contributed with 29 runs.

Earlier, Chadoora had posted 150 runs on the board. Aabid Sheikh 47, Mehraj 31 and Imtiyaz Lefty were the highest scorers for Chadoora 11.

For Barkat Brothers, Shahid took 3 wickets and Lateef scalped 2 wickets. Fazim was declared man of the match.
