Srinagar police arrests 9 gamblers

Srinagar: Police has arrested a motor cycle lifter and recovered the stolen bike.

A police spokesman said that Police Station Karan Nagar received a written complaint from one person namely Danish Shabir son of Shabir Ahmad Bangroo resident Noorbagh Srinagar wherein he stated that some unknown thieves have stolen his bike bearing Registration No.JK01J-5862 which he had parked near SMHS.

Accordingly, a case FIR No 27/19 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, with the aid of scientific & modern technology it was learnt that one individual Yakhsahn Ellahi son of Gh. Nabi Ellahi resident of Lal Nager Chanpora had lifted the bike.

After strenuous efforts, the accused was tracked and arrested.

The arrested person revealed that he had sold the bike to another person. Eventually the bike was recovered and the receiver of stolen property identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd  Subban resident of  Batpora Wathora Chadoora was subsequently  arrested.

Further investigation is going on in the matter and more recoveries are expected.
