Srinagar: Police in Anantnag destroyed poppy cultivation in various areas of the district.
A police spokesman said that a police party of Police station Aishmqam headed by SHO Aishmuqam under the supervision of SDPO Pahalgam, destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 20 kanals of land in villages Khayar and Hapatnar Aishmqam of district Anantnag.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling and cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law,” said the spokesman.
