DC Pulwama inaugurates Press Club for working Journalists

Pulwama, Jun 12: The long pending demand of the working journalist of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was fulfilled by the authorities as a Press Club was formally inaugurated by District Development Commissioner on Wednesday here.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Pulwama, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, said that the aim of established the club is to unite journalists so that that could discuss and share matters of common interests to create a healthy and peaceful environment in our surroundings for the enrichment of better society.

He further said that the media fraternity of the Pulwama district shall work in cooperation and should utilize the facility to highlight public grievance and other issues related to governance.

The media persons raised their demands including establishing of broadband connection, library and renovation of rooms and washrooms. DDC assured that all requisite facilities will be provided as early as possible.

The Pulwama Working Journalist Association (PWJA) president Shah Irshad ul Qadri, General Secretary Nisar Ul Haq and Spokesperson Javid Sofi thanked the Deputy commissioner Pulwama for meeting the decades old demand of Pulwama working journalist.
