SHOPIAN, JUNE 08: Newly Elected Panchs and Sarpanchs from District Shopian called on DDC Shopian Dr. Owais Ahmed today here at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian Shabir Hussain Bhat was also present on the occasion.
The delegation was led by President Kashmir Province Panchayat Cell, Javid Ahmad Qadri along with District President Shopian Ishtiyaq Ahmad Paswal and Panchs and sarpanches of the district.
The delegation conveyed its appreciation to the DDC for empowering the institutions of local self-governance through the effective delegation of powers.
The DDC conveyed his best wishes to the newly elected representatives. He exhorted them to strive for the welfare and upliftment of people. He assured the delegation that the Administration is committed to the empowerment of the people, and will stand shoulder to shoulder with the local representatives for the welfare of the district, to fulfil the aspirations of the masses. He urged the members of the delegation to prioritize people’s interests, as the people have reposed enormous faith and hope on them.
