City sports clubs to get free kits soon: Div Com

SRINAGAR, JUNE 01: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review youth engagement programme.

The Divisional Commissioner directed Youth Services and Sports department to identify mohalla teams of the Srinagar city especially in Down Town areas, number of youth associated in sports activities, total number of clubs, academies, gyms and sports related unions. Register all of them so that free kits will be provided to them. He said that the government will provide them every support so that national as well as international level of players can be generated from the capital city.

He asked Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to monitor the free, fair and transparent registration process of city clubs and submit the report to the Divisional Commissioner for further course of necessary action.

Khan also directed Youth Services and Sports department to prepare a district wise calendar for youth related activities in Panchayat, district and divisional level in which all details were included like game, other co-curricular activities, number of boys and girls involved, date of commence, venue and time within a fortnight and send it to all Deputy Commissioners of the valley for hassle free conduct of youth engagement programme.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir asked all concerned officers to work with close coordination so that youth engagement programmes become a big success across the valley.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal, Additional Commissioner Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain Mir, Joint Directors of Youth Services & Sports and Education, Assistant Commissioner (central) Qazi Irfan and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
