DC Kargil visits Hussaini Park, other prominent religious places

KARGIL, MAY 25: Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary today visited Hussaini Park and some other religious places here and took stock of the arrangements being put in place by the District Administration for the ensuing Shab-i-Qadr, Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (A.S), Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The DC was accompanied by the Superintendent of Police Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar, officers of Health, MC, PDD, PHE and other concerned officers of the Civil and Police Administration.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure that devotees do not face any sort of inconvenience in visiting the religious places during the upcoming auspicious occasions.

He also enjoined upon the officials to maintain proper cleanliness and hygienic atmosphere in and around all the Masjids, Eidgahs and other important religious places.

The officers were directed to work in close coordination and cooperation with the representatives of the religious organizations for ensuring proper arrangements so that the religious events are organized in a smooth and hassle-free manner.

The DC also stressed for effective traffic management on the routes of the religious congregations as well as Hussaini Park and Islamia School premises where the congregations would culminate.

He also asked officers to ensure the provision of drinking water, power, medicare, sanitation, ration and other requirements to the people so that they do not face inconvenience.

The DC directed the PDD for uninterrupted power supply and repair of street lights. He also directed the Municipal Committee for installation of street lights at important places in Kargil town.

While stressing for better transport facilities to the devotees visiting the religious places, the DC directed the officers to take concrete steps to ensure smooth regulation of traffic. He asked officers to take strict action under rules against vehicle owners indulging in unauthorized parking.

He also directed the market checking squads to intensify the checking of illegal profiteering and selling of low quality food items and to take strict action against the culprits.

The DC said that people can bring their issues and grievances during the ensuing religious events to the notice of the District Administration through Control Room with telephone number 01985-232818 and 01985-232263.
