Jammu May 24: “J&K bank is a unique commercial institution with humane compassion for the people of the state. It acts as an ambassador of J&K state with its pan India operations in the country. It has an excellent model of distribution of profits by investments in the up gradation of social infrastructure in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the way it has turned around to exemplary profit by the relentless hard work of the Chairman and his team it will soon regain its glory as one of the best bank in the country.” This was stated by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma while appreciating the leadership of the Bank and his team post inauguration of a Cash Recycler Machine cum ATM at Press Club Jammu in presence of Management Committee of the Press Club of Jammu, Ashwani Kumar, Abhimanyu Sharma Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Dinesh Manhotra, Bank’s Vice Presidents Sudhir Gupta, Ashutosh Sareen, and Shareesh Sharma in addition to a large number of media personnel and officials of the J&K Bank.

Later on a function was held in the Bank’s Zonal Office in which the Chairman J&K Bank Parvez Ahmed handed over a cheque of Rs 12.50 Lacs to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu who is also the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society Jammu in presence of the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr Ramesh Kumar, Directors on the Board of the Bank D K Pandoh, Rahul Bansal, Vikram Gujral, Secretary Red Cross Jammu Dinesh Gupta and members of the Executive Committee of Red Cross Jammu. The amount was collected by the Bank by using the Business outlets of the Bank for selling the Raffle draw tickets of Red Cross.

The Chairman and CEO J&K Bank was also felicitated on the occasion by the Press Club Jammu and Red Cross Jammu for various initiatives taken by the Bank under the leadership of Parvez Ahmed to ensure the upliftment of distressed sections of the society not only under CSR but also by launching customized schemes for the bottom of the Pyramid people in J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma for his easy accessibility and support to the various initiatives of the Bank. He thanked him and other members of the Red Cross Society besides the management team of Press Club, for giving and opportunity to the Bank to make a meaningful contribution in the society.  Interacting with the audience he said, “When it comes to functioning of the Bank in our state it is not only about business numbers alone it is beyond banking, beyond any commercial objective. The emotional equity we have with the people of the state motivates us to work for the economic upliftment of our people. Business numbers are the byproduct of this work which is actually beyond business. My vision is to take this Bank to soaring heights and make it a real catalyst for growth and empowerment of the people of our state. We get huge support from all the stakeholders whether it is the our Board of Directors, the state government, the investors, millions of our customers, media, our society and results are there for everyone to see.”

While eulogizing the role of press and media he said, “Beneath today’s initiative of dedicating a cash recycler cum ATM to the Press Club also lays our objective to walk an extra mile, beyond the commercial objective to offer a hassle free cash deposit and withdrawal facility to the fourth pillar of democracy i.e.  Media which plays an important role of in shaping the thought process of the society. Contribution and service of the members of the press in democracy is unprecedented as guardians of information and shaping the opinion of the public. Whether at the borders or most grueling terrains, morning, day or night, your service regardless of time, terrain, comfort is extraordinary driven by your passion towards the people. This heightened sense of commitment is a great learning for all institutions and organizations towards public service and this ATM cum Cash deposit machine is our tribute to your selfless service to the society”. He thanked the media for its support to the initiatives of the bank and disseminating the information about the banks products and policies in right earnest.

Earlier Ashwani Kumar President Press Club Jammu congratulated the Chairman for excellent business numbers and expressed gratitude for providing doorstep facility of cash deposit and withdrawal to the members of the Press Club and general public. He commended the Chairman and Management team of the Bank for their outreach to all the sections of the society which in the long term will ensure the development of the state.

On the occasion the Chairman J&K Bank announced installation of an ATM at the Red Cross Night shelter for the patients attendants near Government Medical College Jammu which will provide attendants of patients doorstep facilities and the rent will shore up the corpus of the Red Cross Jammu for serving the poor. Sudhir Gupta Banks Zonal Head Jammu presented the welcome address and Shareesh Sharma Vice President proposed the vote of thanks in the function which was conducted by Garvita Khajuria an official of the Bank.

An Iftaar Party was also hosted on the occasion by the Chairman J&K Bank for the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Bank’s Directors, Executive Members of the Red Cross Society Jammu, Management Committee and members of the Press Club Jammu and senior officials of the Bank in Jammu.
