Jammu, May 21: Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Ravinder Sharma on Tuesday said that BJP-PDP regime in the state would be remembered as the “darkest period” in the state, especially Jammu region which witnessed worst-ever political, social and economic neglect and multiple discriminations in various fields.

In  a statement, Sharma said BJP behaved as worst ever opportunist political party and it bartered the interests of Jammu electorate for its lust for power and all the representatives behaved as ‘yes men’ in the PDP government, for fear of  losing the golden opportunity to remain glued to chairs in power.

The BJP leadership at the centre sacrificed the entire agenda and the interests of people of Jammu region to save their unholy alliance while the inexperienced and opportunists BJP leadership in the state always sincerely followed the dictates of BJP high command and remained loyal to PDP leadership more than own leaders of PDP.

He said that the BJP leadership which claimed the formation of unholy alliance of ideologically bitter opponents, as a move in national interests but had to justify the breaking away of the alliance again in national interests. Either of two was not in national interests, the BJP leadership failed to explain so far, he said.

He said that the so called champions of Jammu utterly failed to represent the aspirations of people and safeguard their interests, be it educated youth, farmers, traders or employees/workers and betrayed the trust reposed in BJP by the Jammu people to the extent that people felt leaderless despite having twenty five (25) champions of BJP from the region.

He asked the BJP leaders boosting of their party’s commitment and role for the Jammu region, to explain their betrayal, utter failure and sell out for the sake of power, when they had primarily secured mandate from Jammu region to oppose the agenda of PDP. BJP should explain the failures to check bungling and regional imbalance in recruitments be it JK Bank, SPOs, JKPSC besides large scale back door appointments in several departments, semi government institution during their tenure.

Sharma asked the Governor’s administration to expedite investigations in various cases of bungling, scams and favoritism in various departments being exposed by media quite often and book the culprits.
