DC visits Tulmulla, reviews Mela Kheer Bhawani arrangements

GANDERBAL, MAY 17: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today visited Tulmulla where he convened a meeting to review the arrangements to be made for annual Kheer Bawani Mela which is being celebrated on 10th June 2019.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, SSP Ganderbal, ASP, ACR, DySP traffic, CPO, EO Municipality, Exn PDD, PHE and PMGSY, representatives of Darmath Trust besides other concerned district officers.

Threadbare discussions were held on lodging, bedding, repairing of dormitory and lavatory blocks, sanitation, barricading, establishment of joint control room, health facilities, parking of vehicles,  fool-proof security, availability of essential commodities and general face-lifting in and around of the temple.

The DC directed the concerned departments for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, fire tenders, ration, bedding, medical camps, additional accommodations besides ensuring road repairs and medical facilities at the temple where Mela Kheer Bhawani will be celebrated.

EO Municipality was directed to start intensive sanitation drive within as well as approaching road stretch to the temple prior to Mela besides install dustbins at appropriate places in the market.

During the meeting, the DDC discussed department-wise facilities provided for the devotees. He stressed on the concerned authorities to be proactive and make every possible effort for smooth conduct of the Mela Kheer Bhawani.

Later, DC visited around the temple and directed the concerned officers and representatives of Dharmath Trust to ensure that the devotees coming to pay their obeisance are provided with the requisite facilities and foolproof mechanism should be put in place to ensure smooth conduct of this mela.
