KVK Shopian holds 7th Scientific Advisory Committee meet

SHOPIAN, MAY 14: The seventh Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Shopian was today held in District Development Commissioner’s Secretariat Shopian.

The meeting was chaired by Director Extension, SKUAST Kashmir Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad and District Development Commissioner, Dr Owais Ahmed, was the guest of honour.

The meeting was attended by Associate Director Extension SKUAST-K, Sr. Scientist and Head AARC Pahnoo, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Officer from Sheep Husbandry Department, Manager Lead bank, Officers and Officials of all the development departments, Scientists of KVK Shopian and AARC, Pahnoo and progressive farmers of the district.

Programme Coordinator and Head KVK Shopian, Dr Parmeet Singh presented the Annual Progress Report 2018-19 and Annual Action Plan for the year 2019-20. Officers of line departments presented valuable suggestions for refinement of the action plan of the KVK. The progressive farmers also highlighted their issues in the event. District Development Commissioner praised KVK Shopian for their activities in the district and stressed on integrated farming approach for sustainable agriculture development. Director Extension appreciated the scientific staff of the KVK for efficient dissemination of university developed technologies for alleviating the economic condition of the farming community and directed for strong convergence with line departments for reaching the farmers at the grass root level.
