SRINAGAR, MAY 14: Chairperson J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKSWRRA) Pramod Jain today called on Advisor to the Governor KK Sharma and discussed various water related issues and functioning of the Authority.

He discussed various wide ranging issues related to the water usage with reference to portable water and water use for irrigation purposes.

He also discussed rainwater harvesting and suggested various ways of undertaking the exercise on large scale so that the water conservation is ensured and more water is made available in Kandi areas.

The Advisor maintained that the government has already initiated several measures for taping the wastage of water so that the same could be provided to the needy people. He also said several other initiatives have already been undertaken for ensuring proper rainwater harvesting so that adequate availability of water is ensured.

Later, former legislator Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar also called on the Advisor and raised several issued related to Ganderbal constituency.

Among the issues flagged by him include the bad condition of roads which have been recently macadamized, and status of various under construction bridges of the area.

The Advisor while interacting with the former legislator said that instructions stand already passed to the concerned to ensure people do not face any inconvenience and their issues are addressed at an earliest.

Besides, various public deputations from different areas of the valley also called on the Advisor and apprised him with the issues faced by the people in their respective areas.

The Advisor gave them a patient hearing and said the issues projected by them would be looked into.
