DC Jammu reviews status of grievances of GGC, arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

JAMMU, MAY 13: In an effort to speed up disposal of grievances reported to Governor’s Grievance Cell by general public, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to review the progress made in the disposal of various grievances received from the Governor’s Grievance Cell.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rishpal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Tahir Firdous, SDM North Satish Sharma, SDM South Shrikant Balasahab  Susi, Tehsildars and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that total 302 online grievances have been received till Saturday, of which, 158 have been disposed of and 144 are in the process of disposal.

Deputy Commissioner stressed upon officers of the concerned departments to seriously look into the issues reported by general public and co-ordinate citizen friendly solutions at their own level for quality disposal of genuine complaints and grievances forwarded from Governor’s Grievance Cell. He impressed upon them to institutionalize the grievance redressal mechanism at departmental level and upgrade such systems to cater to the pressing grievance, demands of people on fast track mode.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed arrangements being made for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra commencing from 29th June 2018.

The meeting discussed issues related to medical facilities, water supply, transport, electricity, communication, establishment of control room, availability of fire tenders and essential commodities, medical facilities, mobile toilets, parking facility, Public Address System sanitation and cleanliness of areas within and outside Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar and other registration counters.

Among others SSP Security Ashok Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC Pardeep Manhas, senior officers of various departments, representatives of different religious organizations were present in the meeting.
