Baramulla, May 02: A day-long awareness programme with the theme “Anti Dowry – Wake up Call” was today organized at Government Women’s College Baramulla.
The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, G N Itoo was the chief guest on the occasion. A series of lectures were delivered on the topic wherein emphasis was laid to eradicate the menace from the society.
Deputy Commissioner, in his address underlined the need to change the perception and vision of people about various social evils. He said that several anti-dowry legislations have been framed so that a woman lives a dignified and empowered life in the society.
