Poonch, May 2: India and Pakistan armies on Thursday exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Qasba Kirni sector of this frontier district of Jammu division.

Army officials told GNS that Pakistan army used mortars shelling and small arms in the sector at 10 A.M.

“The army responded strongly,” they added. The shelling created a scare among the locals especially school children.

There were no reports about casualty to any person on either side so far.

Meanwhile, all schools of Kerni Sector are hereby closed today on 02.05.2019 due to cross-border shelling, reads an order by District Magistrate Poonch. (GNS)
