Ganderbal, April 30: In view of ensuing Shri Amarnath ji Yatra- 2019 via Baltal route, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress of works to be executed and arrangements being put in place.

The officers from all the concerned departments apprised the DDC about the progress of ongoing works and arrangements made for the smooth conduct of Yatra 2019 via Baltal route.

The meeting discussed issues related to restoration of water supply, electricity, transport, roads, paths, availability of fire tenders, registrations of labours including pony-walas/dandi-walas/Pithu-walas and availability of essential commodities.  Besides, arrangements for sanitation and cleanliness of areas within and outside Baltal Base Camp and enroute were also reviewed.

The DDC directed the concerned officers for installing signboards and displaying rate list for transport and all types of labours available at different locations for the felicitation of Yatries.

The DDC asked officers to ensure all arrangements are put in place beforehand in time bound manner. He stressed upon all the officers to work in tandem to ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019 and ensuring that the Yatries coming from different parts of the country do not face any inconvenience.

Among others ADDC, ADC, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, I&FC, ARTO, EO Municipality and other District officers were also present on the occasion.
