Jammu: A man axed his wife to death after scuffle in a village, here on city outskirts.
“The couple had a scuffle late last night over some issue in village Gajansoo falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kanachak,” a police official said. He said that the man identified as Saudagar Singh, resident of Bihar, in a fit of anger, attacked his wife Neerwa Devi (55) with an axe at Gajansoo, where they were presently living in a rented accommodation.
“The woman died on the spot,” he said, adding that the accused was arrested and the weapon of offence seized while a murder case was registered against the husband for further action. He said the body of the deceased was today handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
