Baramulla, Apr 28: Following a complaint by Abdul Qayoom Wani, PDP’s contesting candidate from Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency, authorities have suspended four officials including Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pattan for violation of model code of conduct.

According to official sources, Abdul Qayoom Wani had filed a complaint against some officers/officials including BMO Pattan Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani, BDO Gurez Ghulam Mohuddin, Abdul Gaffar, Panchayat Inspector RDD Tulail Gurez, Labour Officers Tangmarg Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat and Mohammad Iqbal Akhoon that they had allegedly violated the model code of conduct (MCC) by involving themselves and the subordinate staff in electioneering.

Sources said that all the four officials have been suspended with immediate effect by District Election Officer, Baramulla.

BMO Pattan, who has been suspended several times in the past also, was placed under suspension by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla.

Dr Shakeel-ur-Rahman, Senior Medical Officer CHC Pattan, has been asked to look after the routine work of BMO Pattan in addition to his own duties, the order reads.
