Srinagar: Commemorative services are being held in many parts of the world to mark the 13th anniversary of the demise of thinker, philosopher and orator of repute Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari.

The biggest function was held in Srinagar where several thousand people converged at his resting place, Gulistan-e-Baba Mazar on Saturday and offered Fateha for his soul.

Later a Majlis was held at Astana Aalya Syed Hassan in Nabdipora, Hawal where Zakireen recited classical Kashmiri Marsya. The function began at noon time and concluded in the evening. Ali Muhammad Qasmi, Agha Syed Roohullah Kazmi and Muhammad Abbas Pandit were the key Zakireen besides others.

Agha Syed Ajaz Rizvi led the gathering in congregational Dua-e-Tawassul. Dua-e-Tawassul is also know as dua for “quick-fulfillment-of-all-legitimate-desires”. This dua has been written by Imam Hasan Askari (as), 11th Imam.

Second edition of Qateel-e-Nainava, the monumental book penned by late Maulana was also made available on the occasion. The 600 page book has been published by Wilayat Foundation, New Delhi.

Similar functions to remember Maulana Mustafa Ansari were held in Bangalore, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Najaf al Ashraf, according to reports.
