Govt College of Education Kashmir Organizes Annual College Road Race

Srinagar, April 24: The Department of Physical Education, Government College of Education Institute of Advanced Studies in Education Cluster University, Srinagar, organized an Annual College Road Race for both Pre-service and In-service students (Male and Female) on Wednesday here.

In a press release issued to Kashmir Images, Physical Director, Mohammad Ayoub said: “For male students, the race started from Nehru Park to Nishat Gate at 06:20 am and for female students the race started from SKICC Gate to Nishat gate at 06:50 am. Around 98 students participated in the Road Race. The first race was flagged off by Principal, Dr. Seema Naz and Second race for female was flagged off by senior faculty members Dr. Showkat Afza and Prof. Gurmeet Kour in presence of Physical Director. All the participants took part in event enthusiastically.”

“On the occasion, Principal, Dr. Seema Naz, highlighted the importance of sports activities for overall personality development of the teachers,” said Mohammad Ayoub.

Physical Director, Mohammad Ayoub, laid emphasis on the importance of sports in the lives of students.

“Daljeet Kour, PTI enthusiastically motivated students for participation in Annual College Road Race. The faculty members of the college were also present on this occasion,” he added.

The male students who bagged 1st three positions were Amir Hussain M.A. Education, Tariq Ahmad Wani B.Ed 2nd Sem and Rafaqat Hussain B.Ed 2nd Sem. The female students who bagged 1st three positions were Lama B.Ed 4th Sem, Rashida Rafiq M.A. Edu (4th Sem, Asiya Jan B.Ed 2nd Sem.

The prize distribution ceremony was held after the completion of the event immediately at Nishat Garden and the prize were distributed by Principal Dr. Seema Naz.
