Srinagar: An informal interaction with ex-servicemen was organised by Khuda Ke Bande Batallion under the aegis of Kalapahar Brigade on 16 Apr 19.

A defense spokesman in a statement said that the intent was to ascertain the difficulties faced by them and resolving them at the earliest. A total of 51 Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and widows attended the interaction and had a candid conversation with Brig Sandeep Jaswal, Commander, Kalapahar Brigade to convey their thoughts.

During the interaction the Ex-servicemen were informed about the Ex-servicemen cell which has been established at Station Headquarters, Uri to look into their grievances, said the spokesman.

Lt Col Gulam Hassan (Retd), Zila Sainik Welfare Officer also addressed the Ex Servicemen and briefed the gathering about the various Rehabilitation and Welfare Schemes currently being run and those planned in the future.

The session was very fruitful in providing a platform where the hardships being faced by the Ex-Servicemen could be brought to the fore and a concentrated effort could be made for their early resolution, said the spokesman.
