Srinagar, Apr 14: The authorities on Sunday decided to re-open the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road for the vehicular movement from April 15 (Monday).
“It notified for the information of the general public that the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road upto Sonamarg resort shall be opened for vehicular traffic from April 15,” reads an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal.
The official has said that the road shall remain open from 11 am to 3 pm only under the supervision of CEO SDA, SDM Kangan and SDPO Kangan and during fair weather conditions.
The road was closed in December last year due to heavy snowfall in the area.
