3 day ‘Consultative Meeting on Innovation & Entrepreneurship Monograph’ begins at JKEDI

PAMPORE, APRIL 12: A three-day “Consultative Meeting on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Monograph” began today here at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Sempora Pampore.

The main purpose of the consultative meet is to give impetus to the concept of innovation and entrepreneurship at grass root level and design a monograph for the students at school, college and university level, after taking inputs from subject experts as well as the people working in the field.

Subject experts of national repute including Prof. H P Singh, Director Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi, Dr. Sujit Bhattacharya, Principal Scientist at National Institute of Science & Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), Prof. Bhaduri, a development economist and professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Dr. Manish, teaching Environmental Economics at TERI, subject experts from National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Dr. Abhay Kumar and Dr. Karenk Koireng, Dr. Sujit, Principal Scientist faculty members from University of Kashmir, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) Awantipora for their inputs and consultation. Some local innovators and JKEDI faculty were also present on the occasion.

Director JKEDI, Tufail Mattoo urged the participants to deliberate on the broad contours of innovation and entrepreneurship so that an appropriate course of action is designed by the institute in due course of time.

The experts from various educational and technical institutions presented their points of view as to how a monograph on innovation and entrepreneurship can be prepared and what shall it be based on. They stressed on the need to explore relevant pathways for innovation, mass awareness, changing the mindset especially those of the parents, consideration of backward & forward linkages etc., before coming up with a monograph on the subject.

On the occasion representatives from NCERT, New Delhi expressed their willingness to partner for developing the text/course on innovation and entrepreneurship.

The consultative meet shall continue to deliberate over the next two days and seek inputs from the participants to prepare a comprehensive document which shall later help in preparing the desired output-monograph.
