Srinagar: Two girls  and a youth were injured as armies of India and Pakistan traded fire in Sawjiyan sector along LoC in Poonch district of Jammu division on Friday.

Sources said that Tasvir Akther daughter of Abdul Rashid and Shubeena Akthar daughter of Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, both residents of Chapprian, Sawjiyan received injuries after some Pakistani shells landed in the residential areas.

The injured youth was identified as Muhammad Isaq son of Noor Muhammad

The injured were shifted to district hospital Poonch for treatment.

The officer said, “Pakistani army violated ceasefire by targeting Indian Army’s posts in the area with mortar shells and small arms.”

He added that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly.

When last reports came in cross-border shelling was going on.
