Chinar Premier League-2019 commences at Ganderbal

Srinagar, April 01: The Chinar Cricket Premier League which is being conducted at Government College of Physical Education, Gadura, was today inaugurated in a grand ceremony, by Khalil Poswal, SSP, Ganderbal, many prominent persons of the civil society were also present.

According to the statement issued by Chinar Media, in continuation with the Army’s efforts to encourage sports in Kashmir Valley, Ganderbal Army camp launched the much awaited championship showcasing the talent and commitment of Kashmiri youth in sports.  “A total of ten teams from all parts of Kashmir Valley are participating in the tournament which is being played on a knockout basis.”

“The Chief Guest, in his address to the teams, encouraged the young players to utilise this golden opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to imbibe some of the most important lessons of life through the medium of sports. He appreciated the efforts of the organising committee for conducting the event and was pleased to see the large numbers of enthusiastic audience that had come to see the matches. He declared the tournament open amidst fanfare and excitement,” reads the statement.

“An exhibition match was also conducted between Victor Force A team from Badgam and Baramulla Tigers to mark the beginning of the tournament. Subsequently, the first knock out match was also played in which Green Star team defeated Baramulla Tigers by 10 wickets in a one-sided match,” it said.
