Srinagar, Mar 30: Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh was suspended on Saturday for allegedly not cooperating with the election staff.

“The action taken by Assistant officer 23-Amira Kadal; 2-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency is hereby confirmed viz suspension of Principal GHSS Kothibagh. The suspended officer is hereby attached with the office Chief Education Officer with immediate effect,” read an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar who is also Returning Officer for Srinagar parliamentary constituency.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has been tasked with probing the conduct of the principal and furnish the report within two weeks, it added.

Meanwhile, district election officer Bandipora also suspended four government teachers in Gurez and Bandipora areas after they allegedly violated the model code of conduct.

An official said that Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, who is also the district election officer, suspended two government teachers in Gurez and two in Bandipora for “violating the model code of conduct.”
