Meritorious Scholarship Sanctioned for Wards of Serving Police Personnel: DGP

JAMMU, MARCH 27: Police Headquarters J&K on Wednesday sanctioned meritorious scholarships for Wards of Serving Police Personnel under different welfare schemes.

According to Jammu and Kashmir police spokesman, the scholarships are meant to boost the morale of wards of deceased, retired and serving Police personnel.

“Continuing with their efforts to promote the meritorious wards of Police personnel, the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over rupees 3.38 lac in favour of fifty five wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual examination of Class 12th during the Academic Session 2017-18 out of Central Police Welfare Fund,” reads the statement.

“Rupees 7200/- each has been sanctioned in favour of seven students who have secured more than 90% marks while forty-eight students who have secured 80% and above marks has been given rupees 6000/- each . Out of these fifty-five students thirty-one are girls,” it said.

“During the current year till date over rupees 11.69 lac have been sanctioned in favour of 205 wards of serving Police personnel who have achieved merits in the annual examination of class 10th, 12th and post graduate for the session 2017-18. Similarly for the eight wards of SPOs meritorious scholarship has been sanctioned who secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th and 12th for the session 2017-18,” it added.
